Pack your bags and hit the open road — here are five incredible destinations just a drive away from Lusaka.

Lusaka is perfectly positioned as a base for some of Zambia's most spectacular road trips. With a reliable hire vehicle from Inara Mobility, these five destinations are well within reach — and every kilometre of the journey is worth it.
1. Livingstone & Victoria Falls — Just over 470km south of Lusaka, Livingstone is home to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Drive down the Great South Road and arrive at your own pace, ready to witness the thundering Victoria Falls in all its glory.
2. Kafue National Park — Zambia's largest national park sits roughly 200km west of Lusaka. A self-drive safari through Kafue offers unparalleled wildlife encounters without the crowds.
3. Lake Kariba — Head south-east and discover Africa's largest man-made lake. The sunsets over Kariba are legendary, and the lakeside towns offer a peaceful retreat.
4. Kabwe — Zambia's second-oldest city is 140km north of Lusaka. Home to the Mukubwe Wildlife Sanctuary, it makes a perfect day trip or overnight escape.
5. Siavonga — Tucked along the shores of Lake Kariba, Siavonga is a tranquil getaway ideal for fishing, boating, and soaking in stunning lake views.
The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.- Saint Augustine.
All five destinations are accessible on well-maintained roads. We recommend booking a vehicle a day or two in advance, especially over public holidays. Our experienced chauffeurs know Zambia's roads inside out and can double as your local guide.

We did the Livingstone trip last Easter and it was absolutely unforgettable. Booked an executive car from Inara Mobility and the drive down the Great South Road was so comfortable. Victoria Falls was worth every kilometre!

Kelvin, same experience here! The spray from the Falls was something else. I would also add Siavonga to anyone's list — we stopped there on the way back and it was so peaceful. Inara Mobility's driver even recommended the best spot for sunset.

Just got back from Kafue National Park — two nights, incredible wildlife, and a spotless 4x4 from Inara Mobility. The guide in the article is spot on. Kafue is massively underrated and the road there is perfectly manageable in a standard hire.
